Amanda had (somewhat) recently completed clinical rotations in the American Samoa and fell in love with the island lifestyle. The three of us also loved the idea of exploring a new city in Europe together. We married the two and landed on a trip to Lisbon and the Azores. Luckily, TAP air portugal was running a promotion at the time of the trip, offering “free” multi-day layovers in their main hub (Lisbon) while on the way to a secondary location (the Azores). Amanda and I, overwhelmed with loans, and Steph, overwhelmed with the threat of loans looming in her future, had to jump on this opportunity.
